Mahika (Ngāti Whakaheke, Te Aupōuri, Te Arawa) spent four decades in broadcasting, and is now dedicated to protecting and promoting the practice of ancient traditions in Te Ao Māori.
He talked with Saturday Morning about why indigenous knowledge - mātauranga Māori - is now needed in schools more than ever for our tamariki/mokopuna Māori, and how that should be done.
